The negotiations is ongoing between UARC and WVU , provider of the build and kits.For those planning to attend, soldering stations are being provided by the club. However, wire snips, wire holders, and small tools from your own work bench would aid in a positive experience. There is a cost for the kit. anticipate less than $40.
- [Politician Discovers Gem in Her Backyard](https://w3pie.org/index.php/2025/04/03/politician-discovers-gem-in-her-backyard/): On the cloudy chilly morning of April 1st, Charity  Grimm Krupa, the state rep from the 51st district which is home to UARC, brightened the morning with her charming smile and sunny disposition on her second visit in two weeks. The first visit was to help celebrate w3PIE-Day. I’m not sure, but during that celebration the seed of a second visit was planted. Arrangements were made to bring in a video crew for Charity to highlight and document UARC’s community involvement and services. I am calling the eventual result a mini documentary that will enhance the diversity of the 51st
- [Photo Op](https://w3pie.org/index.php/2025/03/27/photo-op/): Our State Rep, Charity Krupa, has planned to visit UARC Tuesday April 1st at 9 AM to make a short video for statewide posting. The video will highlight the activities and importance of UARC to Fayette and surrounding counties.
- [Open House](https://w3pie.org/index.php/2025/03/27/open-house/): There is an “Open House” being planned at the clubhouse on April 19th. Please mark your calendar for that date and plan to attend. This will be a great opportunity for the public to see what goes on in that little building on Old Pittsburgh Road with all of the antennas around it and it would be great if we had a good turnout of club members to help promote this event.

- [Node interference](https://w3pie.org/index.php/2024/12/19/node-interference/): If anyone would happens to be running a hotspot, node, or whatever on the frequency of 145.770, please choose another frequency. It has been determined that operations on that frequency is causing interference to some of the UARC’s equipment. Additionally: The 443.750 repeater is back on the air though at reduced power. It is likely to remain at reduced power for a while. The current power output is more than adequate to use for the Keystone Wide Net on Sunday evenings at 8:00pm. Net control

Members and gusts enjoyed a plentiful menu of meal items. The room was abuzz with all types of conversation as well as accolades for organizers and the great food. To end the event, President Horvath distributed door prizes via random drawing then, wished all a joyous holiday.

She did indeed returns and filmed the following piece and posted it originally to Facebook as a testament to the club’ s activities and service. At the Gabfest she again returned to present a Citation from the State House of Representatives to the UARC.

Making the grounds and club house comfortable and inviting has been a chore because no matter what you do, first impressions stick and people notice the grounds coming in and the floors in the clubhouse. The UARC clubhouse floor has aged poorly over the years. Discussions started last year finally resulted in pulling the trigger on a fresh epoxy floor covering that should help bring an inviting ambience to the clubhouse. Click for Facebook page This year’s field days was at the club campus with all activities and radio stations deployed totally independent of the clubhouse radio facilities. Every radio stations was on the lawn with batteries and generator power, every antenna was temporary. It was a true field simulation. - [About](https://w3pie.org/index.php/about-club/): Interesting facts about Uniontown Amateur Radio Club, W3PIE Did you know our organization was started on February 20, 1933? We have had a few different names over the years. We started in 1933 as the Fayette County Radio Club. For many years our members met at various members houses, the YMCA, the County Courthouse and eventually rented a room to hold meetings. Around 1938 our organization changed names and we became the Fort Necessity Amateur Radio Association.  In 1947, our organization bought the property that is still the location of our radio club. In 1949, our club house was constructed.
