Field trip for September Tech Wednesday

Tech Wednesday program for September will be a field trip to the WMBS transmitter site, off of State Route 857 in Georges Township. We will independently arrive. Once you see the two towers and the transmitter building, the driveway will be easy to find.
The expected conversation will be with two engineers to learn about the station’s AM and FM transmitters. As well as the details of using a tower as an antenna, making a signal directional or omnidirectional, the importance of proper grounding, and how everything can be controlled and monitored remotely. Plus much if you can believe it, much more.
Our visit is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM on September 24th. Hope to see you there.
