Getting cleaned up and ready for the year’s big events
UARC hosts a lot of events on an annual basis. Making the grounds and club house comfortable and inviting has been a chore because no matter what you do, first impressions stick and people notice the grounds coming in and the floors in the clubhouse. The UARC clubhouse floor has aged poorly over the years. Discussions started last year finally resulted in pulling the trigger on a fresh epoxy floor covering that should help bring an inviting ambience to the clubhouse. This was accomplished the week of June 9.
Additionally The grounds have taken a beating from the last six months of heavy weather events. Uprooted trees, and a large number of heavy branches have been strewn all around the perimeter of the grounds. Several work days have occurred where members consolidated the damaged wood and on June14th the mess went up in flames – under control of course.
Still to be accomplished as of this writing is much needed maintenance on existing antennas. Progress on a new antenna is ongoing.
The results are … well judge for yourself. Click anywhere in this line to see the clubhouse work and the bonfire!
